Cannibalism, Pure and Simple

I thought that eating people was a thing of the past, but apparently I was wrong.  According to the International Business Times, Chinese pharmaceutical companies are buying aborted and stillborn babies, putting the corpses in medical drying microwaves, grinding the bodies into powder and then making capsules which are sold as “stamina enhancers.”  The Times states that the pills are 99.7% human and, using DNA tests, a documentary team was able to determine the gender of the dead children.

It does not matter whether the dead babies were filleted, stewed or ground into powder, consuming these capsules is cannibalism, pure and simple.  I have no evidence that these pills were sold in the United States, but according to the Washington Post, for many years China has “flooded the United States with foods unfit for human consumption.”  From tainted apples to toothpaste and even dog food, China has exported it to Americans willing to buy anything at the right price.  We can only hope these cannibalism pills are not one of the “unfit for human consumption” products China has exported to us.

Because we owe the Chinese trillions of dollars, I believe the United States government will kowtow to Chinese officials eager to sweep this from the news.  No real reform, either here or in China, will result.  However, Americans can force a change.  While it is perhaps impossible not to buy any products from China, I have decided I will not buy food or toiletry products.  Even my dog deserves better than what the Chinese are selling.
