Kucinich Moving to Washington State?

Representative Dennis Kucinich of Ohio could soon move to Washington State.  It seems that as the nation’s population moves south and west the eight-term congressman from Cleveland may be redistricted out of a job.  According to the Daily Caller, “Kucinich received requests from people in twenty states, including Washington State, encouraging him to move and run in their area.”Dennis Kucinich

Washington State is gaining a district because of population growth while Ohio is losing two.  If Dennis Kucinich intends to stay in congress, he will either have to fight it out in Ohio or he could move to a state that is gaining a district and run.  According to Washington State law, all he would need to do is move to the state thirty days before the filing deadline in June 2012.  He does appear to be considering the possibility.  He spoke before a packed house in Bainbridge just weeks ago.

While I wouldn’t expect local Democrats to cheer his move to the area, the thought of Dennis Kucinich being elected from my home state sends a chill down my spine.  Kucinich has a consistent voting record, consistently toward the progressive left of the spectrum.  The new Washington tenth district is expected to center around Olympia, a largely Democratic area, but is it blue enough to elect this pro-abortion, anti-gun vegan liberal?
