Do You Feel Safer?
Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 9:10PM Parents warn their children not to allow strangers to touch their private parts, but that is exactly what happened to this child. In fact, without reasonable suspicion of a crime, what the agent did to the little girl would have been criminal in any other setting. In my opinion, what you see in the embedded video was still a crime.
Frankly I’m tired of seeing nuns and children violated for the illusion of security. What happened to this child did not increase anyone’s safety. To the extent that such measures lull us into a false sense of security, they make us less safe. There are better methods of airport security in place right now in other countries, but our politicians lack the courage to implement them. So, the leaders of the greatest and strongest nation on the planet allow their underlings to feel up little girls so that the voting public will have the allusion of security.
We may be strong, but we are not great if we allow this?
