Worn Out Tennis Shoes

Washington State Senator Patty Murray is in the political fight of her life. Early in her political career, she was told she couldn't make a difference because she was just a “mom in tennis shoes.” She has used the phrase to her benefit ever since.  However, with anti-incumbent sentiment high and a record of liberal legislation and big spending, she now finds herself in the political fight of her life.

If you live in Washington State, you have probably seen the television advertisement embedded here.  The sponsor of the ad is the American Action Network, headed by the former Republican senator from Minnesota, Norm Coleman.  The ad illustrates how over nearly twenty years in office Murray has evolved from a politically active mother, to an entrenched and out of touch politician.

Both Republican candidates Dino Rossi, a former state senator and gubernatorial candidate and Clint Didier, ex-NFL player and Tea Party favorite, are better choices for Washington State.
