SurvivalBlog & TEOTWAWKI
Friday, July 17, 2009 at 2:49PM TEOTWAWKI is an acronym for The End Of The World As We Know It.It is often used in books, magazines and blogs covering the topic of survivalism. While the term is very familiar to visitors of Survivalblog.com, the site is not for nuts running around in the woods with guns. While searching for information on natural disaster preparedness several years ago, my youngest discovered Survivalblog.
At the top of the homepage blogger James Wesley Rawles, states, “SurvivalBlog is dedicated to family preparedness, survival, self-reliance, and self-sufficiency.” The site has ample information covering all of that and more. The information dates back to the start of the site in 2005 and covers a host of topics from food and flu to guns and gear.
Rawles, a former U.S. Army Intelligence officer, technical writer is now a full-time blogger and writer. I reviewed his novel Patriots several months ago. While Survivalblog dates back only a few years, Rawles has been writing and working in survival preparedness since the early 1990’s when he began posting to Usenet newsgroups.
Conservatives hold that it is not the job of government to take care of individual citizens. Each person has a duty to care for themselves and their family. If you’re seeking information on self-reliance, and self-sufficiency, I recommend you visit and bookmark Survivalblog.com.
