I’m Going Home

This is my second year teaching on the Kuskokwim Delta of Alaska. While it has been an interesting school year, with many new adventures, it has also been a long school year and I’ve been away from my family since early January. School in Eek, my village, ended on May 22nd and a few days later I flew into Bethel to take a college class. Tomorrow that class is done and I will fly home to my family.

I’ve started both packing and counting down hours. While I write, I’m also doing laundry. I arrive home Friday night and other than church on Sunday and a meeting with fellow writers the next Friday, I have nothing scheduled that first week. If you have been following this blog and have enjoyed the posts, I hope you can forgive this hiatus—I’m going to spend time with my family.

There are always so many topics I want to write about, but I must balance my passion for writing with my teaching career and time for and with my family. There are no guest bloggers here at Ruminationsblog. Maybe someday there will be, but for now, I write every word from my heart. However, if this blog is to contribute even in some small way to turning this nation back towards what the Founding Fathers believed in, I can’t stay away for long.

My two sons have given me valuable input, inspiration and technical assistance on this and other web projects. I’ll be meeting with them on June 13th to plan web strategy and, I promise, I’ll resume updates to the blog that afternoon.

So I invite you all to visit the blog on the afternoon of June 13th, and regularly thereafter. Until then, Farewell.
