Articulate & Open-Minded Liberal Intellectual?

Some days you struggle to write something that is insightful and interesting and other days the liberals write your articles for you. Today is one of the later. As I scanned the web looking for inspiration I came across an article about “actress and political activist” Janeane Garofalo from the Washington Times. According to the Times she believes all the Tea Party protesters were redneck racists. I had never heard of Ms. Garofalo, but thought such venom was worth a look.

On The Countdown with host Keith Olbermann, the article quotes her as saying, "Let's be very honest about what this is about. This is not about bashing Democrats. It's not about taxes. They have no idea what the Boston Tea party was about. They don't know their history at all. It's about hating a black man in the White House...” Apparently thinking she had not made her views clear enough she went on to say, "This is racism straight up and is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks. There is no way around that." During this hateful diatribe Olbermann, a far left liberal in his own right, never attempted to challenge her statements.

As I mentioned I had never heard of Ms. Garofalo before, so I did a search. Wikipedia quotes her as saying, “You cannot be well adjusted, open-minded, pluralistic, enlightened and be a Republican. It's counterintuitive." But her venom didn’t stop there. If you are like me and more conservative than the current Republican Party, she spit at you. “...first you have to be an a..hole and then comes the conservatism. You gotta be a dick to cleave onto their ideology."

Still wondered why I had never heard of such an articulate open-minded intellectual before, I scanned down to her filmography. She has been in fifty-one feature length movies and I have not bothered to see one of them. I’m proud of myself.
