Liberal Hypocrites

            I’ve said several times in this blog that there are days the liberals make my job easy.  Recently two items came to my attention which demonstrate the current level of liberal hypocrisy.  I’ll cover the first event, the arrest of Roman Polanski, today and the other tomorrow. 

           Well over a hundred Hollywood and media elitist have been quick to jump to his defense, signing a Free Roman Polanski petition.  Whoopi Goldberg even defended the child molester with, “It wasn’t ‘rape’ rape.’”  Let’s take a quick look at what happened.    

            In 1977 using the guise of a modeling shoot, Roman Polanski gave a 13-year-old girl a combination of champagne and Quaaludes. He then told her to lie on a bed, strip and despite her repeated protests and resistance; performed oral sex, intercourse and sodomy on her. 

           Originally charged with sodomy and lewd and lascivious act upon a child, he was allowed to plea bargain this down to the lesser charge of engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.  However, after pleading guilty, Polanski was not about to allow himself to face justice. He fled the United States to Europe where the age of consent in many countries is fourteen.    

            Lacking any standard of conduct, the Hollywood elites flounder around searching for feel good solutions.  In the Polanski rape case, their feel good answer is to minimize what he did, but I have to wonder, would they let their 13-year-old daughters spend the night at “Uncle Polanski’s” house.  And, I have no idea what is going on in Whoopi Goldberg mind, which is probably a good thing, all that I have just described sounds like plain old rape to me.

           America needs to ignore the Hollywood elitists.  It does not matter how long ago it happened or how famous a movie director they are, anyone who abuses a child the way Roman Polanski did needs to face justice.
